Accessing Planet Usable Data Masks

Hi Simon,
we are still exploring the usable data masks - as they are not available for a complete archive, we avoided them initially. They will come however, in mid-term future.

That being said, we are working at this point to add unusable data mask (UDM), which should become available very soon.

Ok thanks - I look forward to the update. Presumably even then, we will still need to order the data before we can see if the AOI is cloud free?

Correct. There is no way around that unfortunately, Planet does not support this.

Hi @gmilcinski Any timeline when we will be able to access the UDM2 masks. Because meta information in the order regarding cloud, clear_percent, haze, etc. of the image tile doesn’t tell the exact picture of the AOI geometry.

this is not yet on our high priority list as the UDM2 is still only available on partial set of acqusitions.
We will inform you, once this is available.
