Terrain correction tool option

I am processing sentinel-1 data(time series), I am confused in the terrain correction tool option i.e., apply radiometric normalization. I mean, I got the idea of normalization from help option but I am not sure is it necessary to apply radiometric normalization along with terrain correction, and how it it affecting the output.

I assume you are using SNAP to do these steps?
